Tachys
Electronic duo Tachys comprised of of Tobias Wilner (Blue Foundation, New York United, Ghost Society, Bichi) and Jonas Bjerre (Mew, Apparatjik) share new single Pierce, alongside accompanying video by Danish artists Sarah Liisborg and Fiona Aagard.
Taken from the duo’s self titled debut album released via Køn Records which marked a culmination of roughly two years of work. The two childhood who have talked about doing a project together for years, finally found they had time to make it happen when they found themselves having studios right next to each other during a period of lockdown in Copenhagen.
With a combination of pop and experimentation, Tachys forge their melodic sensibilities with psychedelic pop and synth/chillwave for latest single Pierce creating vibrant dream-pop completed with driving beats.
Commenting on the new video for Pierce, Tachys explain: "Pierce is, in a way, a kind of ode to the perfectionist, or if not an ode at least a friendly nod, saying “I see how hard you work, and I appreciate you. And I know that your hardships often go unrewarded or even unnoticed.” The song could be a monologue from a concerned friend or partner, saying “don’t be so hard on yourself” or it could be someone trying to talk some sense into themselves. In any case, it addresses that kind of dark perfectionism which ultimately becomes a sort of demon inside.”
