Michael Cassidy

Glasgow’s Michael Cassidy shares latest single ‘Tarka’ with accompanying video by Hugh Holton, ahead of the release of new album ‘Wandering As Water‘ due 24th June via Scottish Fiction.

With a reposeful contemplation Tarka gently breezes like a meandering river reflecting the lyrical content, coupled with a delicate guitar melody and soothing double bass, while Cassidy’s vocals are carried along celebrating the perfect moments in life, tenderly affirming “If I could live this day again, I wouldn’t live it any other way”. and “don’t need anybody else, but you”.

The third single to be shared from forthcoming album Wandering As Water, following previous singles Tell Me Who You Are and I Am Free, Tarka takes inspiration from the seminal Henry Williamson novel Tarka the Otter, which Cassidy explains: “‘Tarka’ is inspired by a book of the same name that I read when I  was younger. Its the story of the life of an Otter and  the various dangers he faces. Even though its ostensibly a childrens book, as I got older this story seemed to gain more relevance to me. The names and places in my song are taken from the book and the name ‘Tarka’ is said to mean ‘Wandering as Water’, which became the title of the album”.

Pre-orders of the forthcoming album Wandering As Water are available here on limited edition frosted green splatter vinyl, standard black vinyl and slipcase CD.

All include an immediate download of Tarka, as well as previous singles Tell Me Who You Are and I Am Free. All pre-orders will be entered into draw to win one of two signed test pressings.
