Ewan Patrick
Edinburgh based Ewan Patrick shares new double A side single Feels Good To Be Alive / Two Hearts.
Following up quickly on October’s debut solo release similarly a double A side single, Ewan continues with the trend of writing, performing, recording, mixing and mastering himself with the only exception being the Cello on ‘Two Hearts’ which was composed and performed by Rebecca Rowe.
Talking about the new tracks Ewan explains: ‘Feels Good To Be Alive’ is a narrative song, starting with the protagonist in quiet introspection. The song then explodes (around 1min 10s) with a sense of optimism and hope for the future.
I stumbled upon ‘Two Hearts’ while writing my wedding speech, not for a minute trying to contrive a love song for my future wife but it just kind of happened. Full album to come later in the year.
Both tracks offer a shining optimism while Two Hearts harbours a more intimate view of Ewan Patrick. The honesty in the lyrical content for both tracks creates a vivid picture wihich is enhanced not least because of the DIY aesthetic to his process of writing and recording himself.
