Vulture Party
Falkirk-based Vulture Party share latest single Blood Wolf Moon taken from forthcoming second album Archipelago, due later this summer via Last Night From Glasgow.
Discussing the concept for the new track and also accompanying video filmed, directed and edited by Neil McKenzie of Keep It Creative the band explain: “The idea came from research into European folklore on werewolves and how often marginalised people in society would be negatively labelled and ostracised for being different. Our theme for the song and music video is a werewolf searches for human contact and finds love through music and dance (in Gartcosh).”
The third track to be lifted from forthcoming album Archipelago, the follow up to the bands 2020 self-titled debut album, preceded by singles Afterlife & ISO Disco. Blood Wolf Moon continues with a buoyant and confident charisma that has come to encapsulate Vulture Party, loaded with swooping synths alongside the duel vocals of Louise Ward & David King, driven by a pulsating bass and drum line influenced in part by European pop & dance, as the band comment "We had hints of it in the first album and the pandemic forced us into using backing beats, which brought out the Euro dance feel in an organic way, making the focus big riffs and fat rhythms.”
