The Hanna Barberas

Following on from the release of Get Physical in May of this year The Hanna Barberas return with new 6 track EP Dial H For The Hanna Barberas released as a limited run of CD’s and digitally through Subjangle.

The HB’s deliver another burst of bright jangly guitar pop with homage being paid towards Edwyn Collins on the track The Sound Of Happiness. Written overnight after hearing Edwyn in session for Marc Riley. the track serves as testament to all those that Orange Juice inspired over the years and those who continue to be inspired by the DIY aesthetic of Postcard Records and the subsequent C86 movement.

Throughout the EP The HB’s deliver a sense of fun from a band who clearly enjoy making records and unashamedly wear their influences on their sleeves which we at Postcards From The Underground love knowing that with each new release will be something that conveys a sense of joy and playfulness.

We were listening to Edwyn Collins in session on Marc Riley's 6 Music show. While talking in between tracks, Edwyn's wonderful laugh rang out. By the next morning, this song was written. Taken from 'Dial H for Hannah Barberas.' Full EP download available on our Bandcamp page, CD out on Subjangle.
