SOMEONE
Dutch/British composer, producer, and visual artist Someone (AKA Tessa Rose Jackson) shares new single In Your Arms, the third track to be taken from her forthcoming album Owls due 24 Feb 2023 via Tiny Tiger Records.
With accompanying visual for In Your Arms the LA Film Award winning duo of Someone and David Spearin have created an evocative sci-fi vignette which follows two young girls as they emerge from their subterranean bunkers for a day of adventure which Someone describes as: “A post-apocalyptic world, where the air is toxic and terrifying six-legged creatures prowl the land.” expanding “What follows is a day filled with fun and play, because no matter what the world may throw at them, kids will always find a way to just simply… be kids. It’s a celebration of the power of joyfulness and love against all odds”.
The third single to be lifted from Owls, In Your Arms follows previous tracks Suddenly and Song for Slowdancing as a taster for forthcoming new album, which centres around love and loss in a small community. Commenting on these themes Someone explains: “Those little stories that exist in the open and the secrets that snake beneath the surface.” In part inspired by a road trip of New Orleans to Memphis to Nashville (“The wide-open road, the stories embedded in small town America and a sense of mystery about the place sparked something in me” infused with a love of David Lynch’s shadow world which Someone describes as “Teetering between the sweet and the dark and disturbing.”
