Post Yoga

Bristol based Post Yoga (AKA Chris Barrett) shares new single Bison taken from forthcoming self titled album released via Nothing Fancy Records on 6th August.

Firmly embedded in a DIY ethos of writing and recording exclusively on a charity shop bought Yamaha keyboard Barrett comments: “If I have an idea and want to write or record something, I’ll just plug in, rapidly press something, and go from there,”. This ethos gives Post Yoga a perspective of closeness and playfulness which comes across beautifully in the music which creates a captivating listen.

With inspiration for the latest track coming from a story on YouTube, about a couple who adopted a bison and thought of it as a pet, allowing it into their house Barrett explains: “It was like a puppy, it was completely dependent on that couple to look after it, despite being a huge wild beast,” Taking the story and exploring the theme of unhealthy codependent relationships he continues: “each verse is talking about how once you find this person you hold onto them and don’t let them go, from the male and female perspectives, It’s definitely not healthy.
