Following recent single Acrobat On The Roof, Sing To The Sun is the latest instalment for the forthcoming EP, using field recordings from Whitley Bay and melding synthesizers along with double bass and woodwind, Sing To The Sun is composed with a delicate balance verging on hymnal with transcendental harmonies.

"My songwriting tends to explore more dystopian settings," explains Dent. "So to go against this instinct for this track I tried to imagine what waking up in a future society that had taken action to reverse the effects of climate change would actually feel like."

"The character is taking a walk through this future coastal city in a world that holds its relationship with nature at its core, absorbing the early morning light and thinking about how far we've come. It features field recordings taken at sunrise in Whitley Bay, which was the initial inspiration for setting the song by the sea."

for the accompanying video to Sing to the Sun Dent collaborates again with Amelia Read and features dancer Sophie Halford, clarinet player Faye MacCalman and herself making their way through the sunlit city individually before coming together at the end.

"The double exposure effect of the editing is to give the impression of a ritual or event that happens over and over again," Explains Dent. "The characters journeying through repeated locations (shot in Newcastle and Sunderland) is also a small nod to surrealist filmmaker Maya Deren. The ending of the video in particular references the moment of the three women playing chess in her film 'At Land'."
