On the latest single , Launder’s, John Cudlip explains, “‘Intake’ carries the rhythm of someone and something new, anticipating all the best and all the worst. These themes inspired a faster tempo and ascending chords. I let this track be indulgent in all the best ways and really leaned into all of the cleaner guitar sounds and single note guitar interplay similar to the early Launder songs. For those reasons, this track is a total joy for me and was a lot of fun to rehearse and record.”

Redirecting his addictive tendencies Launder’s, John Cudlip delved into writing and arranging resulting in the 13 tracks which make up the forthcoming album, featuring collaborations from Chase Meier (bass), Bryan DeLeon (drums), Nathan Hawelu (lead guitar), and French artist Soko (who takes the lead vocal duties on last single ‘Become’).

Throughout the sprawling debut album, Happening is timeless, grappling with something bigger than just melody, the cathartic and the tender, indebted to indie rock greats while informed by modern and prudent self-reflection.
