Following on from 2020’s debut album Sing The Blues Electric, On Our Island was written and recorded by Craig McIntyre throughout lockdown in Glasgow with contributions from Jimi Maffei on drums and Rhodes piano as well as arranging and mixing the EP and Adam Znaidi on Moog.

Continuing in the vain of The Byrds, Gram Parsons or Micheal Nesmith & The First National Band, On Our Island is a potent mix of psychedelia/americana/folk-pop with mellifluous vocals, languid acoustic guitar and keys finding McIntyre in a lyrically reflective and contemplative mood on the challenges of last year a theme which carries throughout the 6 tracks on the forthcoming EP creating a wonderfully hazy listen.

Talking about the latest offering McIntyre explains “Making On Our Island essentially got me through this past year. After recording some acoustic demos at home I linked up with drummer/producer Jimi Maffei and together we spent some time on arrangements, turning these songs into something special. The contributions of Jimi and other musicians around the country took the record in a new and exciting direction. This is no more evident than on the title track with Jimi's Rhodes piano and Adam Znaidi's Moog. What was originally quite a simple song takes off halfway through into sunny psychedelia.

‘On Our Island’ EP will be available Digitally, CD, Limited Edition Cassette & 8"x8" Digital Art Print with Download Options via Preorder via GoldMold Records Bandcamp Here.
