Gurli Octavia

Danish artist Gurli Octavia shares a new live performance video for Lilac Rose taken from debut album I Could Be Blossoming Instead.

Keen to tour debut album ‘I Could Be Blossoming Instead’ outside the Nordics, Gurli had the disappointment of having UK touring plans fall foul of Covid uncertainties and travel restrictions. Now ready to embark on a 14-date Autumn tour of her native Denmark throughout September, she celebrates with the release of a live performance video for album track Lilac Rose.

Talking about the time which should have been spent touring she comments: "I've been pretty prolific these last few months and used lock-down and the unexpected time at home to write and demo the next album, so maybe 2022 will be the year we come and play both records live in the UK!"

Commenting on the track which contains the lyrics used as the title for debut album, Gurli explains: “It’s about confronting a need to steer away from, not towards, the things that are hurting you, and trying to be honest with yourself. There was a time when I told myself that if I came off the path of self-destruction, I could be blossoming instead.”
