Recorded at home and featuring guests that include drummer James MacKintosh (Shooglenifty / Transatlantic Sessions / Kaela Rowan) and singer Hannah Fisher (Idlewild / Roddy Woomble / King Creosote). Of the track Ali explains “The song draws deep on the tradition of Scottish indie-folk pessimism, exploring the boundary line between the apathetic paralysis of a bad bout of depression and the fight or flight impulses of a spaced out panic attack”. With sumptuous guitars and harmonies, As We Grow breezes through with a composed charm while delivering a satirical take on the daily grind of listless reality.

For the accompanying video filmed on a cold day on Portabello beach near Edinburgh Ali quips: “if you’re going to take a dip in the North Sea in January you either have to be much hardier than I am or extremely desperate to feel something new!”.
