Angela Yausheva

Poet and multidisciplinary artist Angela Yausheva, based between the UK and Serbia, merges jazz and poetry — exploring improvisation, rhythm, and spoken word as a unified artistic language — in The Music That Lives In Me (Jazz Poetry Film), a work that blurs performance and cinema into one expressive, resonant form.

Filmed in Belgrade and Dubai, the project is the result of an international collaboration between Angela Yausheva and Australian musicians Alex Nicholls and Will Endicott, alongside a Serbian videographer Zoran Rašić. The film also features a cameo appearance by trumpeter Andrija Gavrilović.

Dreamlike urban interactions glow beneath streetlighting — ephemeral, suspended moments between strangers captured on film. Paired with The Music That Lives In Me, Angela Yausheva offers an emotionally resonant, reflective performance, expressive in every phrase, balancing technical precision with vulnerability. Her nuanced touch creates intimate, cinematic moments that quietly linger.

Angela Yausheva first poetry collection "A Small Part of a Long Story Told In a Foreign Language" is due to be published in October 2026
