Pelts
Glasgow 6-piece Pelts share their beautifully crafted new single 'Throwing Sticks' today via Iffy Folk Records.
The single taken from their long awaited debut album 'A Little Less Lost' due for release on September 18th. Two years in the making, the album has been produced and mixed at Anchor Lane Studios in Glasgow by Luigi Pasquini.
Graham McCarey, Vocalist & Guitarist, said: “I feel like the last few years have forged us into a formidably tight and close unit. We’ve weathered a number of personal challenges between us, and that’s brought out a truly special creative intensity. It felt like the time had finally come to make the first Pelts album.”
‘A Little Less Lost’ is a pure and heady distillation of who we are as a group of people, and its songs are steeped in the story and the journey that have brought us to this point.”
The dual vocals of Graham McCarey and Natasha Radmehr shine with melodic harmonies throughout the 8 tracks on offer on the album. Set against a backdrop of hazy guitars and distorted synths creating an inimitable folk-pop sound characterized by the bands dark blend of beauty, wit and longing. A Little Less lost builds throughout with emotional and dark imagery weaving a rich tapestry with glorious storytelling making it a captivating listen.
The band have worked with Glasgow based artist Beth Cowey to create the stunning artwork for the single and album.
Which Beth describes “The album is quite reflective and meditative so I knew that my visual response would be kind-of abstract. The album also made me think of a dark road at night with bright lights and (because of certain lyrics) the sea.”
