The latest Postcards From The Underground cuts a restless path through the current independent landscape, bringing together 27 new releases that refuse to sit comfortably in one place.

Post-punk abrasion meets skewed indie-pop, woozy folk, fractured electronica and guitar music with a distinctly left-field instinct. There are moments of melodic clarity, flashes of noisy dissonance and plenty of strange, compelling detours along the way — from intimate songwriting and dreamlike textures to sharp-edged alternative sounds and outright experimentalism.

Among the highlights are the jagged momentum of Man/Woman/Chainsaw, the hazy immediacy of Weather Happy, the restless indie-pop of T Union, the skewed textures of This Is Lorelei, and the quietly expansive songwriting of Liana Flores and Shannon Lay. Elsewhere, Snapped Ankles, Disgusting Sisters, Railcard, Lowly, Bonnie Kemplay and The Wow! Scenario push the playlist into stranger, more unpredictable territory.
