The Sunday Shift
The Sunday Shift release new EP Home marking their third release of 2019 with debut EP Dog and stand alone single Sensitive Touch having already garnered them a cult following, support slot for British Sea Power and publicity from NME and DIY.
The band built around the songwriting partnership of Josh Falconer and Matt Bradstreet, who originally met at a young age in one of the many industrial towns of the Midlands, before moving to London where they met bassist Tom Porter and drummer Arms Juarez bonding over a common love of 80s and 90s guitar music and modern poetry.
Recorded in North London with producer Margo Broom ('Fat White Family’, ‘Telegram’, ‘Catholic Action’) at Hermitage Works Studios, Manor House.
Josh and Matt say of the EP :
“it is a portrait of modern living, through a plethora of narratives. When the record was written we both lived in quite an isolated area on the outskirts of the city (which has since been rebuilt), away from the bustle but with all the characters it inevitably attracts. The EP attempts to capture the essence of those people”
With a melodic charm The Sunday Shift have created an EP which yields a richness in texture and lyricism of a band with a clear sound and refreshing delivery.
