Mt Doubt
Three years on from the critically acclaimed "In Awe Of Nothing" and after a run of EP's and singles, Mt. Doubt return with a new album Doubtlands released via Last Night From Glasgow 18th September
Throughout Doubtlands we find singer and songwriter Leo Bargery ruminating over the course of ten tracks which creates a collection of brooding yet uplifting songs all in equal measure. The third album outing for the Edinburg outfit and first on LNFG is a wonderful soundtrack encapsulating the current times.
speaking about the singles which have preceded the LP release Leo explains first single Headless “Essentially this is just about trying to deal with a perpetual state of anxiety and sadness and the notion that wallowing and floundering in it all is a kind of penance for your missteps and wrongs and something which might, I hope, settle the scores”.
While most recent single ‘Dark Slopes Away’ It’s loosely playing with the tension between our built-up, tarmac lives and a desire to be overwhelmed by nature and lost in something much grander and more important than ourselves -it’s a bit of a note to self, not to give in to the mundanity.
The introspective mood is continues for Caravans On The Hill which Leo describes as “Tied to driving around the East Neuk of Fife; rolling fields, forests and wide seascapes. Very much mapping the downward trajectory of a personal relationship and the tug of war between the potential for better and the draw of familiarity”.
