Faroese-Canadian artist Lena Anderssen shares new single Aimee from forthcoming album State of the Land due March 2021 released via Songcrafter Music.
Sitting between the poppier side of REM and Kirsten Hersh, Aimee breezes with desire while being tied to fear and doubts which can affect us all which Lena describes as: “To me the song Aimee represents the tug of war between fear and hope”. Written pre-covid with long-term producer and musical collaborator, Niclas Johannesen, and Danish Grammy winning producer Oli Poulsen. The latest single feels eminently relevant to the current times with opening lines “Aimee’s looking out through the window, She’s waiting for the world to be safe again”.
Talking about the accompanying video Lena explains: "The video is filmed upstairs in a still unfurnished room in my house. I bought some black gaffa-tape that I used to create the backdrop – and that is basically the whole budget for this thing! It's both filmed and edited on my phone in the true spirit of these isolated pandemic times.”
