NoSo

Following the release of their anticipated sophomore album, ‘When Are You Leaving?’ (via Partisan Records), Korean-American singer-songwriter NoSo is set to headline a run of UK dates in February.

‘When Are You Leaving?’ is an album for anyone still figuring themselves out, and one that proves NoSo to be one of this generation's most compelling songwriters. Following the release of the record earlier this year and a pair of shows opening for Khruangbin, NoSo is set to return to the UK in early 2026 for a run of headline shows surrounding ‘When Are You Leaving?’.

Kicking things off at the gorgeous Islington Assembly Hall in the capital on the 17th, NoSo will play four dates across the country in February. From there, they will take to the stage at Bristol independent venue Strange Brew and the beloved Band on the Wall in Manchester, before bringing the tour to a close at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on 20th February. The full list of dates can be found below, and tickets are on-sale now.

On ‘When Are You Leaving?’, NoSo turns their gaze from daydream to reality, exploring what happens after transition, when you’ve stepped into the life you longed for, but still feel unseen. Where 2022’s ‘Stay Proud of Me’ imagined a future of self-acceptance, ‘When Are You Leaving?’ lives in the messy, beautiful aftermath. It’s about identity, perception, and the quiet victories that come with walking away from what no longer serves you.

The album reflects NoSo’s growth not just thematically but sonically: largely self-produced and recorded remotely, it trades bedroom pop minimalism for expansive arrangements, saxophone, strings, disco grooves, distorted guitars all woven with precision. “Sugar” (co-produced with Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum) floats with lush harmonies and soft-focus disco sheen. “Don’t Hurt Me, I’m Trying” crashes through with sludgy guitars and raw intensity. “Dad Made Toast!” bursts with experimental house energy, while the acoustic “Who Made You This Sweet?” captures tenderness in its most intimate form.

Raised in a predominantly white suburb of Chicago, Hwong studied guitar at USC and later turned toward songwriting that interrogates the complexity of being seen—sometimes too much, sometimes not at all. The name NoSo itself stems from a question he was often asked growing up: “North or South Korean?” That search for wholeness cuts through ‘When Are You Leaving?’, which wrestles with gender presentation, platonic heartbreak, mental illness, and emotional dissonance with both brutal honesty and sly humor. Tracks like “You’re No Man” and “But You Want Him” distill these contradictions into unforgettable lyrical moments.

At its core, ‘When Are You Leaving?’ is about being fully known, even when the world gets it wrong. With a sound that’s more confident, diverse, and emotionally resonant than ever, NoSo cements their place as one of this generation’s most compelling storytellers.
