Alt-folk troubadour Gallery 47 (AKA Jack Peachey) shares new single Angel Follows Me Out taken from recent album Saturation released via Bad Production Records.
Talking about the track Jack comments “Angel follows me out is the first song and only single from Saturation. It was recorded using a single AKG C414 condenser microphone in the middle of the night, when no one was making a sound. The song is about trying to conquer your demons whilst also fearing how bad you're going to feel if you try.”
With 12 albums now released for Gallery 47, Saturation was the 4th to be released during 2020 talking about the album Jack explains: “The idea behind the title 'Saturation' was from consumer markets, manipulated images and oxygen levels, all of which interest and terrify me. I just started recording guitar and vocal for 20 minutes at a time, never pushing too far or forcing myself into a formula. Then on another day I would sit and work or play FIFA or something and listen back to these 20 minute improvisations. When I heard something that I liked, I would note it down and work more on it. The most difficult part was structuring the songs. You could hear a little sample where the chord changes blended with the vocal line, but it was stranded in the midst of a 20 minute improvisation. I cut the sections out which I liked and went for lots of little walks listening to them on headphones until the lyrics gradually took place. None of it felt stressful at all.”
