Dark-alt pop duo Charlotte Spiral share the video for their latest single ‘Out of Here’ directed by and release their evocative new EP, New Light.
Co-produced over zoom with Dan Carey during the first lockdown, ‘Out Of Here’, addresses a recurring situation – one that breeds a longing for escape. Lead singer Amy Spencer explains: “There is something about doing things over and over again in a monotonous way that makes a situation feel worse than it is, and I wanted to portray this throughout the song,”
For the video, Charlotte Spiral teamed up with director Thomas James to present a surrealist dramatisation of issues that are prevalent in society today. James comments: “The track has such a beautiful and romantic quality; an elegance and sensuality - I wanted to explore this, but with an underlying 'modern' loneliness. A contemporary surreal heart-wrench.”
