Charity Children
New Zealand born, Berlin based Charity Children (aka Chloë Lewer and Elliott McKee return after 5 year hiatus with new single We Loved taken from their upcoming album Almost Young due late Summer.
Having broken off their romantic relationship and taken a break to become friends We Loved is one of two songs on the forthcoming album written by - and to - each other as a celebration of their break-up. Featuring a shift to a more eclectic alt pop sound Charity Children have offered up a joyous first taste of the new album about finding solace within each other and being able to separate the romantic and friendship aspects of relationships.
Along side the new single comes a fun vintage style theatrical video which the pair explain: ‘a week consuming a YouTube diet of 90’s era boy/girl-band choreographies, bad 80’s green screening and ABBA videos’ (Elliott) to match the ‘vintage analogue sound of the single – as colourful, quirky and cheeky as we are, humorous too as the song is so sweet, so we shot it on VHS and Elliott used analogue visual synths’ (Chloe).
