The first release on Integrity Records for Gurli following three self released EP’s Nick Tarbitt from the label explains “We first saw Gurli play at a festival in Denmark in May 2018 and have been chasing her to work together ever since”.

With an inward looking trajectory X-Ray exudes a melancholic intensity reminiscent of The National or Big Thief building in grandeur from the opening keys completed with expressive trumpet outro creating an honest look at regrets of not being the 'significant other' she wanted to be before finding absolution before the end of the track.
Going on to talk about the tracks included in debut album ‘I Could Be Blossoming InsteadOctavia comments "2020 was a truly challenging year for us all but, for me, it has also been a year where I found a way to mend my sorrow and stray from the very self-destructive path I was on. The songs on the album were written with a heavy emotional burden, but things are much clearer to me now as I see them in retrospect”.
