Montreal based Ada Lea (AKA Alexandra Levy) shares new single Damn and announces new album One Hand On The Steering Wheel The Other Sewing A Garden due 24th Sep via Saddle Creek.
Latest offering Damn follows on from previous release Hurt with cathartic pop/folk set against evocative, raw emotional lyrics which Levy muses “Why would I try to write a story that’s not my own? What good would that do?”.
With the album set in Montreal, each song exists as a marker in a map of personal history where Levy grew up. The theme of the city carries throughout the album serving as both a location and that of a character in many of the songs. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer/engineer Marshall Vore, Levy comments: “Marshall’s expertise and experience with drumming and songwriting was the perfect blend for what the songs needed. He was able to support me in a harmonic, lyrical, and rhythmic sense.”
